# Around the World in 80 Days-Why was this such a box office bomb?

It had many things going for it…Jackie Chan, Steve Coogan (maybe people did not get his humour?)  
There are typical Jackie Chan routines.

Maybe that’s it. I used to enjoy his movies, but his schtick kind of bores me now.

I’m, pretty easy to please when it comes to movies (& I love Jackie Chan) BUT when we got this flick for Free from the library we felt cheated. It was sooooo bad.

My suspicion is that they’d fared better putting the same effort in a movie based on an _original_ title. Verne’s book is an excellent story, consumed in moderation.

The title “Around the World in 80 days” has good name recognition - but of the _Oh not another corny Around the World in 80 days movie_ sort.
