Oh my! They most certainly do! Artichokes are my biggest delightful gluttonous weakness. The epistle of a thistle! I like 'em with a sauce made of homemade mayonnaise, extra lemon juice & curry powder. One leaf at a time, drawn across the front teeth and then you extricate the tender heart from it’s spiny enclave and, Oooooooo, what I wouldn’t do for a decent artichoke. Unfortunately, they’re hard to come by where I live. Damn, now I got a hell of an artichoke jones! Doobieous, wherefore art thou? ---

You can have mine. They have no taste for me. People always say to eat them with drawn butter to get the taste, but all I taste is the butter. Rather have popcorn for that. ---

Yeah artichokes!!! Drown those puppies in butter and go to town. The hearts and bottoms are my FAVE. Mrs O likes the marinated hearts you can get in jars at the store. I prefer 'em straight up, buy 'em and boil 'em. YUMMY! 😃 ---

Elelle, if I bring artichokes to Chicago, would you help me eat them? 😃 Oh man, I love those spiky Green Goddesses of Vegetables. I like mine steamed, with either melted butter of sour cream for dipping. Mmmmmmm. Now, I love vegetables. Artichokes, though, I love better than ice cream. Better than Mackinac Island Fudge ice cream. Want to score some real points with me? Don’t offer to take me lingerie shopping. Offer me artichokes. Yeah. Who can’t have fun with melted butter? I always hated those things when I had to bag groceries. If you weren’t paying attention then you would get stabbed by about five of the leaves. As far as the taste, I only really had them once. I thought that they were pretty good until my mom noticed that was only licking the butter off of them. ---

Fresh artichokes are a great treat! More often, though, I buy canned artichoke “bottoms” and use them as tiny chicken salad bowels - which I eat, whole. Yeah! ---

There’s a restaurant up the street from where I live that makes stuffed artichokes. SOOOO GOOD! They’re stuffed with bread crumbs and garlic. The heart is always the best part. Yum! Dammit, now I want one. ---
