One could imagine Kelly’s mention of the assassination plots to be a bit of a “the Mad King did as he wished. Has Uncle Jamie told you what happened?” dig back. Which would itself be quite disturbing. Sure they _could_ take over the Republic if they wanted to. But if they crossed that line they could take down Trump himself.
