Article in New Yorker about Trump's internal war with his generals

My fear would be that you would need a fairly compelling or charismatic lead to play DJT in a series, and that runs the risk of glamorizing a monster. And who could possibly play him? John Goodman?

I realize this is a highjack, so let’s not pursue it here.

Surely one of these guys is still alive and available,

Not really, you can have a grotesque portrayal that is nevertheless mesmerizing to watch.

I suggest Vincent D’Onofrio. Fantastic actor with a wide range, and he was great at playing Wilson Fisk (The Kingpin of Crime) in Daredevil and Hawkeye.

Gary Oldman would also do an awesome job.

No, he’s playing Giuliani,

D’Onofrio could pull off the physical presence of the fat slob, it doesn’t seem like a Gary Oldman role to me, but he’s a great actor who has surprised me before. I don’t think it’s a great role for an actor though, Trump is not multi-dimensional. That nutbag traitor Flynn would be a good role for Oldman.

I bet Christian Bale has told his agent to get the word out to every production company in the world that he really really wants to be the grossest, orangest, spittiest version of Trump there ever was.

Screw it, let’s just get Alec Baldwin.

Bale might even put on actual weight for the role. A steady diet of Big Macs and Diet Cokes.

Then again, he said he’d never want to do that sort of thing again according to that article, so maybe not.

I have long thought it’s a shame that Rodney Dangerfield is no longer with us. Trump reminds me of him.

Trump makes Rodney Dangerfield look classy.

He played the bug man from outer space in the first MIB movie, so I agree he would be a perfect choice. He just might worry about typecasting.

One more thing that I feel should be said on the subject of believability:

These people are all real, living humans with phone numbers - many of whom have even been on Fox News.

Righty Media loves it when they can show that the Lefty Media is making stuff up, and does every time that they can (not terribly often, but it does happen). So if, now, they’re avoiding the story like the plague or acting like somehow they can’t just call up these guys and ask, “Is it true?” It’s because they know the answer.

The same with the Jan 6 hearings: Surely, the video testimony is all creatively edited to make it seem like Trump’s folks are throwing him under the bus. But gee, if only we could call up his former employees whose testimony was shown, to find out whether that’s all it is… Must have lost their phone numbers, sorry!

As I’ve said, Fox News keeps leaving off the second half of their motto, Fair and Balanced [My Ass].

Mmm… Shatner or a tribble…

Decisions! Decisions!

Both!

The tribble, of course, would play that alien parasite thing attached to his head.

“Why can’t you guys be more like the Nazis?” said no sane boss ever.

I’d bet good money Mussolini said that at least once, completely unironically.

No doubt he did. Mussolini’s sanity, or at least non-psychopathic-ness, was/is somewhat in question though.

I’d take that bet. Do you really think Mussolini spoke English when exasperated?
