[murder](http://www.liverpoolmuseums.org.uk/picture-of-month/furtherReading.asp?id=141&venue=2) (dark but work safe). After the famous “absinthe murder” the Montmartre scene became more prone to depict acts of violence and the grotesque (though by then Toulouse-Lautrec was dead and the scene had seriously faded anyway).

His CD is [actually on amazon](http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg/detail/-/B000005X1J/qid=1128091384/sr=2-1/ref=pd_bbs_b_2_1/102-5852377-9165748?v=glance&s=music), although I wouldn’t call it “pop.” He sounds more like a folksy country singer, sort of like Willie Nelson. His music is actually surprisingly good - supposedly the fact that the music industry was part of his motivation in his murder conspiracies.

That should be “supposedly the fact that the music industry rejected him was part of his motivation…”
And now that I’ve read more of the thread I realize that I was hijacking it, sorry about that. Goodluck with your story!

[Billy Milligan](http://www.danielkeyesauthor.com/milligan.html), serial rapist and violent gay basher who beat the rap by claiming to be a multi-personality in the time of the Sybil bruhaha, was also a painter who made quite a lot on his works as a result of his infamy.
