The biography in, um, _Biography_ magazine dwelt on how normal and simply Jim Osterberg, er, Iggy Pop lived, (“Call me Jim.”) as he tried to maintain a lifestyle within his means (concerts and royalties). My favorite Alice Cooper quote explains why he’s dry, and goes something like, “Vomiting blood onstage is fun. Vomiting blood in your swimming pool is not.” ---
