While Neil Diamond is best known for his slow, pop style, the only I love beyond all reasoning of his is “Brother Love’s Traveling Salvation Show.” I wish he sang like that more often.
I like Mick’s acting better than any “singing” he’s ever done.
I like Monica Bellucci for her mind.
One of my favorite books is CITY BOY by Herman Wouk, which has no war in it. Poe not only wrote the best horror stories and mystery stories, he wrote some side-splitting funny stuff.
Mark Twain wrote a historical novel about Joan of Arc which is very different from all his other books and reads like it was written last week. I don’t know if I prefer it to Huck Finn but it’s a wonderful book few people know about.
I love Stephen King far more for his science fiction than his visceral horror. The Jaunt, I Am the Doorway, The End of the Whole Mess, The Langoliers, Word Processor of the Gods, Lawnmower Man, The Long Walk, The Dark Tower, etc. It all just gets me in my sweet spot.
My favorite Al Pacino movie is Author, Author in which he plays a playwright raising five children. I love him in that role. If I had only seen him in his gangster/criminal persona, I wouldn’t be a fan at all.
I liked the nekkid pictures in Playboy.
As opposed to only reading the articles? Right!
I’m a fan. but hadn’t seen his pure landscapes before, thanks.
In a related note - I was a huge fan of James Gurney’s historical illustrations for National Geographic way before Dinotopia came out.
aw duuuuuuuuude
Can’t say I was the hugest fan of Boris Karloff and his old monster flicks, but I thought he did a fine turn as his erudite, slightly world-weary self in Peter Bogdanovich’s early classic Targets.
Meanwhile, (conversely), I never had any Martin Landau bedroom posters back in the day, but IMO he definitely deserved best supporting Oscar for Ed Wood for playing Karloff’s rival, Bela Lagosi.
Donny Walbergh boy pop singer and Tom Selleck star of Blue Bloods? No way. Walbergh took over that show and is the only reason I watch it.
