Well, I sent my email couple of days ago, but didn’t include suggestions, just a rating. I know I can be hard to buy for for people that know me IRL. So, for whoever gets me, here are as many ideas as I can think of at 1:00 in the morning: dragons, a bookstore gift certificate would be nice for me, too (we have Walden, BN and Borders around), stuffed cat (I have a growing collection), dragons, chocolate (or fudge…yummy), chocolate chip cookies. Or maybe dragons. ---

I have a suggestion. Instead of everyone making a wish list for things that we can go out and buy ourselves, why don’t we send something that represents the place where we live? Something unavailable to those who don’t live in the area. Fer instance - I live in Utah. There are many shops that carry large snowflakes made from salt from the Great Salt Lake, all kinds of paraphernalia for the 2002 Salt Lake City Winter Olympic, flavored honey in fancy jars (we are the beehive State), Native American art. I know that Alaska shops sell smoked salmon, small figures made from glacier stone, moose poop ear rings, Alaskan Native art, blackberry jam. Those from Nevada can send miniature slot machines, fuzzy dice, naked jiggly dashboard dolls. You can imagine what the overseas dopers could send. See where I am going with this? I am an admitted souvenir junky, so I would rather get a present that represents where it came from. ---

That’s a great idea Diane. Especially for those who want a G-rated gift. Speaking of ratings… **Homer** , I think I told you in my e-mail that it didn’t matter if I received a G-rated or an X-rated gift, well, I think I better stick to a G-rated gift. My SO probably wouldn’t appreciate me getting an X-rated gift from someone other than him. I have no problem buying an X-rated gift for someone though. Thanks. ---

Well, I just emailed my info. I forgot to specify that I’m female though :^) Yeah, I’m not _supposed_ to send out my address either, Zoggie (Despite being 18 I’m still in high school and living under my parents’ roof and rules), but I figured getting a present from the Straight Dope won’t kill me. _IS_ there a list for our Wish List? Because people who know me in real life wouldn’t get me something I don’t like. I don’t want to go into specifics, but I LOVE writing and I love books. I also love cats and collect cat figurines and such. I also have a collection of disgustingly adorable stuffed animals… I love really original and creative gifts, but don’t we all? I dunno, Medea’s Child, if I can spend even $20-25. Money is tight in our family right now, and I wasn’t even planning on spending more than $5 for even close friends. But whatever happens, happens. :^) ---

Is there a post limit? You know, you can only participate if you’ve posted X amount of times or have been around for X months. I’d like to use this as a way to get to know you all better and possibly get some brown-nose points (_?_). 😃 ---

Would _ **GOLFWIDOW** _’s Secret Santa please contact me (by e-mail)? I’ll give a reason–I want to give one of my\* best friends on the SDMB\* a humble little Christmas gift, and I intended to use her Secret Santa wish list to choose something. But it occurred to me that I might very well duplicate what her Secret Santa is getting her, and I’d like to head this possibility off. So, whoever you are, I’d like to touch base with you by e-mail, and compare notes (actually, it’s a matter of making sure that you aren’t getting one specific thing). Oh, and she knows I’m getting her something, so I’m not spoiling a surprise here. Of course, I promise not to reveal who you are, or what you’re getting her.
