Ashley Judd has everything it takes to be a movie star except acting talent. But she’s certainly not the only actor to lack that particular qualification, so i won’t hold it against her, as long as i’m not expected to watch her chew the scenery. ---

If she doesn’t have acting talent, how was she able to be so incredibly good in _Ruby in Paradise_? The talent is there. Her choices in scripts or directors demand nothing of her. One observation I’ve made over the years is that it’s rare to hear an actress who’s so obviously intelligent (on talk shows) and so obviously colossally unintelligent (in choosing scripts) at the same time. Something doesn’t compute here. ---

You may well be right, but we can only judge her on the roles she _does_ play, not on the ones that she might be good in if she had the chance. There are other actors out there who i think are mediocre, who may well be great actors who are suffering due to the mediocrity of the roles they play. But there’s nothing i can do about that; i can only call 'em as i see 'em. I’ve got nothing in particular against Ashley Judd, and i wouldn’t go out of my way to avoid a movie just because she was in it, but i’ve not yet been especially impressed. ---

Cute, talented, sexy, intelligent, nice body with no artificial enhancements: what’s not to like? She’s like the Angelina Jolie for men with taste. And I still think she would have made a much better Lara Croft in Tomb Raider (even if she would have had to strap on a Mae West vest to satisfy the prepubescent males’ needs for a Lara with watermelons for breasts).
