So you ignored 4:10 seconds of the video and latched onto two four-second clips where you could say ‘Gotcha!’? Lame. More than that, it points to the ignorance shown by people like you that is dragging this country into the ground. Why don’t you try being a patriot instead of a self-serving parasite? Oh, and you conveniently left off the other half of the second quote, which was _and to all mankind_. ---

No, what’s lame is spouting such platitudes as: I will smile, more, laugh more I will be a great mother/father I pledge not give people the finger To meet my neightbors, to give them a smile To turn off the lights To never stop learning and growing, each day. May I ask what’s so pitworthy about people pledging to help their fellow countrymen, even if it is with small things such as turning off lights to save energy or not giving each other the finger? I, for one, feel every little bit helps and can’t imagine getting worked up by people trying to make things better for everyone. ---

Maybe I’m naive but I don’t think they were pledging to be Mr. Obama’s personal servants but rather to serve him in his role as President, and thus by extension serve the country and it’s citizens. I don’t think there is anything wrong with that. I’m also not really sure what’s wrong with people pledging to better themselves.
