Hm… That’s not how I read it, but I do admit such a reading is possible. I was assuming he meant that after having travelled to the random spot, he will be able to tell you before digging whether you will find something when you do dig by consulting a chart.

As an offer of circumstantial evidence, all costs of the tests are borne by the claimant. PM would have to be prepared to finance a drilling crew even to pass the preliminary test. Seems unlikely.

I’ve been thinking of this, too. I’ve been piled on here a couple times, and when 85-90% of the people here are telling me I’m wrong, I tend to take it to heart and reflect on whatever I did to cause that conflict. I typically feel a little bit embarassed after enough people have rationally argued against me, and I eventually calm down and apologize or change my stance. This guy has 100% of the people telling him he’s dead fucking wrong and it has not fazed him one bit.
I’m not sure I’ve ever seen such a one-sided argument at the SDMB.

You don’t even need to go anwhere. You just calculate the percentage of area on the survey that is listed as “dry”. Given as you can already do (and probably already have done) that, and you’re happy that that’s a valid test, then I’m not sure that I see what you’re going to gain by taking this to James Randi.
The only thing that your test proves is that you’ve more faith in the government geological surveyors than you do in dowsers (or actually digging a hole…) So I’m not sure I see what is being gained.
No it is not, I don’t need convincing, I only need to show everyone else the idiocy you want to pass as evidence. You demonstrated what a loser you were by tap dancing when people showed that Randi did said that real underground streams can occur, you affirmed he never said so.
The reality was that it was many variations but essentially very few points that we all mentioned in the GD thread, and even the few points you dared take on (ignoring mine BTW) showed only pathetic replies. Everyone can go back and see that you did not even took on 80 percent of the points put forward.
In the first place, several people did agree with me.
In the second place, the ones that did disagree with me are stupid children, incapable of stringing together a coherent argument. All they did was spew out abuse, play stupid word games and tell lies. None of them gave a single reason to doubt me.
And in the third place, I’m not trying to prove Randi a bad guy, I’m just trying to get publicity for my application. If you don’t agree with me, that’s fine. Go tell Randi that you’re sure he’s right and I can’t do what I say. You disagreeing with me will only help me.
So, no, the fact that only clever people agreed with me and you don’t, that doesn’t bother me at all.
I have another question, Peter, but since you don’t seem to want to answer my previous ones, I have small hopes of getting this one answered.
Are you married or in a commited relationship? If so, what does your wife or significant other think about your feelings for James Randi?
What is scarier is that I looked back in the SDMB archives to find the old arguements that started this. I assumed that my memory was failing and that it was more recent than I thought.
I was wrong. The threads are 2.5 years old. Peter has held a grudge that long. He’s started a website. I can understand holdiing a grudge when someone has betrayed you, or caused you much grief. But in this case it is mostly a matter of ‘didn’t pay enough attention to me’.

I agree. It’s Randi’s test design. HE can’t design tests tosdave his life.
