**vix** , did you ever have any contact with Rescorla, even just during a fire drill? In fact, I got it from the library for the third time a few days ago. I should just buy the book. And everyone should read it. You can preview portions of it at Amazon and Google Books. The book I have is indeed _Heart of a Soldier_. I tried to read it some years back and couldn’t bring myself to do so. I should try again. **multimediac17** - It was a picture she’d cut out of the paper and it showed the WTC on fire with a picture of an eagle or a flag or something like that superimposed over it. She had it up in a “patriotic” display of some sort. :dubious: ---

Hi **vix** — so glad you’re still with us. 🙂 Then, as now (though I’m a moderator now; fear my jackboots!) I’m an infrequent poster, but I of course vividly recall going through that day with my coworkers, Dopers, and the rest of the nation. Whenever 9/11 survivors are mentioned, I always think of you as “my” survivor. God bless you, and thanks for sharing.
