All of you, knock it off. **Chiroptera** , your original response was rude and unnecessary – doubling down on it very much more so. I would be interested in hearing from someone with **Robert** ’s experience–I’m not a pilot, and will never be one (learned that when a pilot friend handed me the controls of his Cessna once), but I would be interested in his contributions to the aviation threads that occasionally come up. The SDMB is, after all, fighting ignorance, and **Robert** sounds like he could help with that. **Princhester** , please let Robert know that a few of us would like him to return. ---

I’ll add my voice to the chorus hoping **Robert Briggs** can be persuaded that the initial reply to his post was atypical of the SDMB as a whole. ETA: would also be cool to hear back from **pilot141** to see how the rest of his career panned out, but I guess he no longer posts here. ---
