Why are conservatives so keen on policing and repressing other people’s sexual behaviour? Seriously. Whenever there’s moral outrage and vocal opposition to the sexual expression of consenting adults, at least in the USA, it’s from one of two sources: the moralistic authoritarian groupings to the Right, and/or the more puritanical, tyrannically inclined sectors of radical feminism (who are a whole 'nother can of copperheads, and in bed with the righteous right on this stuff anyway). Who made it those people’s affair? Homosexuals have no worse enemies than the sex repressive and religious right–who seem to consider it something only straight married couples should be permitted to do. Conservatism is the side from which most propaganda for the valorization and enshrinement of heterosexual monogamy (proceded by chastity, virginity, celibacy, abstinence and “sexual moderation”) is spawned and disseminated. Organized attempts to censor pornography and art with strong sexual content, are nearly always spearheaded, bankrolled and energized by churchgoers and their ilk, who claim their authority over all our orgasms, in the names of Decency, Wholesomeness, Child Centered and Family Friendly Culture, and that kind of odious and biased construction. Need I even mention the Bible babbling anti-abortion movement – a straight up attempt to punish sexually active women with pregnancy? T This shit is propagated by both the ignorant prejudiced lower classes and their ideological and financial nurturers higher in the conservative heirarchies. Basically, wherever authoritarian sexual mores are prevalent, you will find religious overseers and conservativity each holding up half the sky. And let us not even venture into how the vocal right makes obnoxious and control-driven harsh judgements on whose sexual proclivities are labelled deviant, perverted or kinky. BDSM and other outre sexual realms are demonized and pathologized by conservatives to a degree that sanctimonious hypocrites ofn the left are only now catching up to. Why does conservatism uphold the very worst human traits, ie self righteousness and bossiness? Why did they decide to make our vice their business? And where the Hell do you people get off? ---

Are you a poe? I ask because if someone asked me to caricature the average republican voter as seen by liberals, it would look a lot like you. Nonsensical positions, no thought given to them, reveling in _being an asshole_, and an utter unwillingness to actually address unpleasant thoughts. This seems essentially too convenient, like a YEC who starts with arguments on AiG’s “Arguments you shouldn’t use” page and goes down the whole list. ---

I have tried to sincerely engage these people and they cannot come up with a straight statement of principles. If I had time I would start a GD thread on what Republicans believe these days, because it is really not clear that they believe in anything more than “stick it to the libtards”. They clearly don’t give a shit about the deficit, the debt, or waste, fraud and abuse in government. ---
