I didn’t vote for Trump, but I will share that the impulses I had to do so were grounded in part by discussions here as well. Even when I watch Trump’s ridiculous and absurd antics, and I’m disgusted by this clown who now sits in the Oval Office, I can jump on a thread here and in two minutes be similarly disgusted by the hysterical and poor arguments being directed against him. There are some great, clear-headed posters here who are solidly liberal, and whose views I cherish reading, but they are often drowned out by crappy arguments and, worse, _acceptance_ of crappy arguments. This is a board that piously reveres fighting ignorance, scoffs at the right for ignoring facts and science, and then accepts shitty attempts at analysis and review merely because the rhetor offering them aligns politically with the prevailing lefty winds. So, yeah: I didn’t vote for Trump, but I came close enough that I actually marked a ballot “Trump,” before trashing it and voting Clinton.
