Don’t pay attention to the “neuter everything” crowd. I’d love me a red and black kitchen, and I’m not the only one. Pamplona’s weather is strikingly similar to Glasgow’s (yes, I do know that’s very different from Edinburgh, I’ve lived in both, but it’s a close reference for you); both places tend to be gloomy, so anything which brightens up a flat is welcome. When I was looking at places to buy in or near Pamplona with my mother, the first time we saw a flat decorated in ultra-bright colors she made fun of it. By the time I decided to buy one with a bedroom done in shades of copper, the other one painted orange, a light-green kitchen and strawberry walls on the living room, she found it perfectly normal.
