On my rig there is a steady stream of jokes about rampant inbreeding in parts of Louisiana. Any truth in that?
What happens when somebody gets sick/injured on board? Does the rig have medical facilities? Are people choppered ashore?

It varies, but generally there is a small clinic and either a paramedic or doctor on board. A sniffle or a scraped knee can be treated on board and helicopters are available for anything more serious.
Is alcohol totally forbidden on board the rig? Doesn’t that seem a bit excessive to disallow a bottle of wine?
Is it true on some rigs you can’t even have a knife?
How many deck guns do you have?
No booze, and it’s a total non issue.
There is a no knife policy on some rigs. Again, it’s not a problem.
