I for one have never been attracted to anybody who is not a “nice guy” My BF is admittedly sarcastic, and cynical at times, he can even be cruel to people if properly provoked (happens rarely). But he’s not an asshole. The moral of this story is, I have no idea why women are attracted to assholes. ---

Is it just me, or has anyone else noticed that guys who refer to themselves as “nice” (and who complain about lack of attention from women) are often very androgynous? Androgyny confuses women. If you think this might apply to you, then grow a beard, roughen yourself up a bit, stop tucking your shirt inside your jeans and spread your legs a bit when you walk. ---

I have read through your responces here and most of them are pretty good. I for one look for people with winning personalities i really don’t care how they look. I mean I need to be attracted to them (and i am attracted to a wide variety of people) but stupid/boring/mean/not good people really turn me off no matter how they look. I think i am exciting, i have hobbies, hopes, dreams. i am funny, charming, willing to help out a freind but i am not a doormat. I also look like a man. I have facial hair, i was with a stagger. You can definatley tell i am a man. Now I think that were the major generalizations that people had a nice people if there are any more i will gladly break the sterotype. ---

I like nice guys. Unfortunately, the nice guys I tend to attract are, unfortunately, of the ‘doormat’ variety. I like arguing and debating and discussing, and it’s just no fun to to this with someone who always ends up agreeing with me - or at least that’s what he’ll say. This has happened at least three times that I can think of off the top of my head. I don’t want a smoothtalking jerk - in fact, I find the slightest hint of a pickup line to be anathema, unless it’s said in jest. Hi, I’m a human being! Jerks and jerks, no matter what your gender. ---
