I made the huge mistake of paying way to much for a paint that is causing me to curse! I am painting with Valspar Reserve. I love the color but I am not liking the roller marks it is leaving behind. Is is very thick ( suppose to be primer and One coat coverage) the consistency of a milk shake. It says do not thin. Is there anything I can do. I have stopped half way thru my project and wondering if I need to try to repaint the entire den and formal dining with a different paint, and if so which one???

Say, we haven’t heard from the OP for quite some time - anyone know what happened to her?

So thin it. The label is saying it’s a one-coat application, which is why they tell you not to thin it, because then you may complain that it’s not really a one coat application. But if it’s leaving globs and marks, you’re either using the wrong roller, or you need to thin it a bit.

After she didn’t back to this [thread](http://boards.straightdope.com/sdmb/showthread.php?t=746179), **Dseid** posted [here](http://boards.straightdope.com/sdmb/showthread.php?t=749006) asking if anyone knew her.

She actually had logged in but did not post two days before and has no activity since.

So, **Broomstick** , no one knows but some of us have drawn some sad conclusions.

Hi there, I am trying to decide between Sherwin Williams and Hirshields for exterior paint. Any opinions?
