Inspired by [this](http://boards.straightdope.com/sdmb/showthread.php?t=535206)thread most recently, but it is a common occurence. Twickster [moved](http://boards.straightdope.com/sdmb/showpost.php?p=11644688&postcount=19) the thread to the Pit, where I saw it.

When a moderator moves a thread, it would be nice to know where it was moved from. Since all of the posts before the move were governed by the rules/mores of one forum, knowing which one it come from adds context to those posts. A simple change from “I’m moving this to the Pit.,” to “I’m moving this to the Pit from General Questions.”

(In this case, I don’t think it matters much, but it’s still a good procedure IMO.)

Sorry – since I signed it as “MPSIMS mod,” I thought that was clear – guess it wasn’t.

I’ll spell it out in the future.

It would have been perfectly clear if I had noticed it. [facepalm]

Thanks!

Good suggestion. I hadn’t thought about that, but I’ll keep it in mind in the future.
