ISIS were actually a US proxy army trained by the CIA and Israeli military instructors at training camps around Konya in Turkey since 2011-2014. In fact Israeli military instructors have been captured in Iraq fighting with ISIS forces.

ISIS were originally Saddam Hussein’s Fedayeen - a werewolf style insurgent army created from Sunni tribes around Tikrit. After the US invasion of Iraq the United States became fearful of an uprising against their occupation in Iraq by a Shia militia led by Muqtada Al Sadr so they created an armed opposition. What we now call ISIS was the same force armed and trained by the United States in Turkey.
