Remembering the day I gave screwing lessons… I had a friend who was having trouble screwing and it turned out that he didn’t know that you should back the screw up a few turns until you fee the threads of the screw dropping into place in the pre-drilled hole. Misaligning the threads makes it especially difficult when the screws are very long. ---

If you plan on moving your furniture around, using a small drop of white PVA glue on the joins doesn’t do any harm. Although Ikea man gets unhappy when he glues his Billy to the carpet… If you are having trouble holding onto little nails without hitting your fingers, press the nail into a strip of cardboard, hold the card and then hit the nail.
