When a state leaves a geopolitical union it secedes. The desire of a state to leave a geopolitical union is the desire to secede. The act of a state leaving a geopolitical union is secession. A person who wants his state to exit a geopolitical union is a secessionist. I say this because with many of the more vocal and less cerebral members of the public our United States entering petitions for their state to peaceably exit the Union and form their own NEW (sic) government, secession has been floating around the interwebs. The only problem is that it seems no one outside of the professional media actually knows how to fucking spell the word ‘secede.’ Many of these sagely pundits on what is best for their little division of this landmass seem to have great skill at starting the word ‘secession’ but havent quite seemed to figure out the art of stopping. In the blogosphere and on the face machines, from prognosticators and fools I have seen ‘suseed,’ ‘seceed,’ ‘susied,’ ‘susceed,’ ‘sucssession,’ ‘sessession,’ ‘sussesstion,’ and any other number of spellings. Seriously, do none of these brain trusts know what a fucking dictionary is? It makes the baby Jesus cry when you think that most browsers will underline misspelled words for you. I know this is kind a mild bitch, but fuck, if these dumb-shits are going to try to convince me with their rabid talk of secession and states rights, they should at least learn how to spell the word ‘secede.’ Hell, I’m just going to throw this out as a rule of thumb for the fucktards in this nation: if you can’t spell or pronounce something, you probably shouldn’t be for it or against it, because you probably don’t know enough about it. ---

I’m a native Texas and I turn 64 next month. Apart from three trips overseas where I lived in Indonesia, Singapore, Australia and the Republic of the Marshall Islands for a total of 4 years, I’ve been here in Texas. I’m not sure about whether the 12 years I spent living in The People’s Republic of Austin count, though. ---
