how about headbanging to “white noise” (the hiss you hear in between radio stations on an analog radio), or a single annoying tone, i.e. the Emergency Broadcast Signal ---

I understand about not wanting to hear loud music from a car in your apartment but at a stoplight? 2 minutes of loud music never hurt anybody. ---

The bottom line is consideration, and that you’re (collective you) right to self expression ends at my ears. It’s everyone’s space, not just those who want to “express themselves”. They don’t know whether or not the person in the next car has a headache, or if the vibration is just excrutiatingly uncomfortable to have beating in their chest or whatever. It’s just thoughtless and rude. ---

Jeezus, you have an awfully strange idea that other people agree with what you believe, whether you’ve consulted them on it or not (ref: your current pit thread). I have a measure of permanent ringing in my ears from somebody else’s too-loud music, playing in a place where it did not, under any circumstances need to be that loud. It took less than two minutes’ exposure. When you can restore that, get back to me. If the music playing in your car is so freaking loud that I have to shout in my own car to be heard, guess which one of us is not an idiot. ---

Good point, never thought about it that way…it’s just that I have been in the car with friends and have had the music up loud and have never got a negative reaction, that I have noticed anyway on the contrary I had a guy give us a thumbs up. Well, I like to listen to MY music in MY car. Not someone else’s Tejano or Rap or Country or whatever. If I wanted to listen to that stuff, I’d be listening to it. I do occasionally get into Music Wars at stoplights, tho. I usually win. So, you don’t mind at all if someone sitting next to you at a stoplight with their music so loud that you can’t hear another person in your car? -Irish, who’s _exploded_ 5 Infinity speakers in as many years. ---

Loud music from other cars at stoplights doesn’t actually have to _hurt_ someone else to be damned annoying. I’m trying to listen to music of my own choosing, in my own car - when your music intrudes, it’s annoying, pretty much regardless of what you’re listening to. ---
