Assisted Suicide - For or against.

Oregon resident here, voted twice for assisted suicide. In spite of all the overblown rhetoric from the other side there has not been a giant leap in healthy individuals being blown away by unscrupulous health care workers who’ve been bribed by the relatives who inherit the deceased’s estate. Assisted suicide, as we planned it to be, is just another medical decision made privately between patient and doctor–nobody else’s business, move along.

The government has no business butting into the private decisions an individual makes for his/her own health care–none of those decisions, mind you. Additionally, medically assisted suicide should not be subject to the same denial of life insurance benefits that unplanned, unassisted suicides are. Denial of benefits can be another factor in decisions that terminally ill patients make to die by neglect rather than by conscious choice–and it’s wrong.
