I have a number of otherwise intelligent friends who actually believe in astra projection. But then, I live in CA. At any rate, I’ve decided it’s not worth arguing with them about it anymore. I usually just smile and try to change the subject. ---

I’d be a bit more down on liberals if I lived around those loonies. My exposure to liberalism has always been the skeptical kind. It’s the conservatives into all the woo, with the MLM tools that get rid of toxins. Not trying to make this political or anything. Just saying knowing people into this stuff makes me understand where you are coming from a bit better. (And I know I’m making an assumption that these people are liberal based on your location. Hey, I engaged in “lucid dreaming” and “astral projection” when I was a teenager. If you are imaginative and are good at visualizing, it can really seem that you are leaving your body. Weird, wild stuff. Nothing truly veridical came of these experience, of course. But it certainly was trippy and fun! ---

What is astral projection, anyway? I mean, I know what it’s _supposed_ to be, but what is it actually? Bullshit, obviously, but it must be something besides that. Is it lucid dreaming? Self-hypnosis? What is the process that gives people the illusion of traveling outside their bodies? ---

Better than Kessel Projection. That takes 12 parsecs to complete, at least. Now, lucid dreaming is real, and can be pretty fun, but I’m not sure why anyone makes a big deal about it. ---
