Plus, I like the little bar graph it puts in the tray. 🙂

I recently (3 weeks now) installed Exchange server 2000 to supply our group with email. It worked for about 5 hours and then quit. I don’t know why. I’ve read every relevant article in the google database. I’ve been screwing with it every day for 3 weeks and can’t figure it out. I’ve had a few email suggestions from geeks out there which sounded great, but did not solve the problem. I’ve uninstalled and reinstalled everything on the system. I’m getting desperate, but the powers that be will not let me hire a contractor. Anyone out there an MS guru with 20 minutes to give me on the phone? I get the feeling from a few of the network administrators I’ve spoken to that they feel confident they could solve the problem but just don’t have the time to look at it. Drop me an email and I’ll send you my phone number, or send me yours and I’ll gladly call you on my dime.

I know you’ve beat google to death at this point but here is some stuff via the profusion search engine that sometimes hits things google misses.

No one has mentioned the SMC Barricade…!

I am a moderate home user. I use ZoneAlarm. But, I have the SMC Barricade 4 port. Is the LinkSys better? I know it does NAT, but I don’t really know what other features it has. (Other than the built in Print Server, which is nice)

Should I scrap the SMC in favor of the Linksys?

Look at your zonealarm logs. If you are still getting a lot of hits to your machine, You might consider it, but zonealarm is real secure. My machine couldnt even be pinged when it was hooked up direct. I now run a Dlink wireless router It does a good job of firewall, plus I can carry my laptop anywhere in the house and surf(right now I am sitting in front of the TV with my laptop). It also has a 4 port or so switch built in. It wasnt cheap, but it works great.
