# At just after 1:00 am tomorrow, something neat will happen.

At just after 1:00 am tomorrow ( Wednesday ) morning, the time and date will be :
01:02:03 04/05/06
I like this kind of symmetry, it’s happened a bunch of time since the turn of the millenium. What cracked me up about the email that informed me of this neat event was the serious closing sentence:
THIS WILL NEVER HAPPEN AGAIN .
:rolleyes: Uh… .well. Gee. It’s 11:34:06 04/04/06 right now and unless time and space become akin to a taffy pull machine and are able to fold back upon themselves and reoccur, this moment that just occurred will never occur again either !
I suspect that the people who started passing this around didn’t really think that part of the email through very well. Nevertheless, the sheer symmetry of it appeals to me. I will be awake, and in a t.v. studio and likely not able to do anything celebratory about it, but it’s going to be in my head tomorrow anyway.

It makes me miss my dad. ☹
My dad would throw parties at the drop of a hat. Parties at our house were:
A) Big. All day long, grill 20 lbs of sausage, have a couple kegs and invite 100 or so of your closest friends, big.
B) Legendary. So much that last summer when we announced I was selling and moving from that same house, after buying it from my mom 4 years ago, (Dad died in 1992) people called and “forced” me to have One Last Blast at the house. 125 people came through out the day, some of whom I haven’t seen more than once or twice since Dad died.
Now the reason this makes me miss him is that some of his more memorable parties came on 8/7/87 and 8/8/88 (that was also to be the first Cub’s night game, but it got rained out, not bothering me of course, the Sox fan). Yeah, that’s right, he threw big-ass parties just because the date was neat like this.
6/7/89 was a party. Perhaps one of the better ones was the next year. We celebrated twice, once at 12:34:56 just after midnight, on 7/8/90. Then again just after noon. Yes, we were up all night, and yes we stayed late into the night that night.
I know dad would be throwing a party for this. I’m thinking I should stay up late and drink a toast.
