How funny is that? After I stitched my sides back together I got to thinking…You know how enjoyable it is when you let one go in the bath (do you? or is it just me?), whales must experience a thousand times this pleasure…Now I have two reasons to envy them. ---

I was just wondering what a big whale fart from way down deep would be like. Due to the tremendous pressure down deep, wouldn’t contents of the bubbles of whale farts be incredibly dense? Methinks that would be way lethal. ---

So, could a whale fart cause a sufficient decrease in water density to sink a small vessel, in the way that a subsurface volcanic gas release can sink a larger ship? ---

For this article to be released on [Gary Larson’s](http://www.deadoraliveinfo.com/dead.nsf/lnames-nf/Larson+Gary) birthday is just too perfect, considering he drew a cartoon on this very subject. (Though it never got published, for being too “scatalogical”. It was included in his “PreHistory of the Far Side” book.)
