OK, can someone explain this one to me? I am a reasonably attractive chick, & when I walk down the street, guys will often say stuff like “Hey baby!” to me, right? But, like, if I keep walking & don’t acknowledge them, they’ll call me a bitch. I don’t understand…I did absolutely nothing, & somehow this makes me a bitch? Also, like, why do they say stuff like that & whistle & beep their horns & all? Do they think I’m going to turn around & say, “Did you just whistle at me? Oh yeah, & just to clarify, I’m not some snotty bitch who’s totally stuck up & doesn’t anyone to look at her…there’s not much I like better than an unsolicited compliment. (Actually, I think the only better than an unsolicited compliment is unsolicited oral sex, but that’s in short supply in my current relationship. _sigh_) I LOVE it when someone says my hair looks good, or I look pretty, or whatever. If you think abusive relationships have anything to do with sex or love, you should consider a subscription to something that is not published by Larry Flint. Regarding call waiting-there’s a new service that pops up a little window on your screen when you get a call. You can log off and take the call or just ignore it and the caller just hears the phone ring like you’re not at home. IIRC, the price was reasonable ($6.95/month). Can’t recall the name of the company. I 'll let you know when I hear the commercial again. * * * In search of the eternal buzz . . . ---

BTW, just where did you get this idea that people stay in abusive relationships for the sex? There are some people that get off on masochism, but I doubt that they make up a significant percentage of abuse cases. ---
