Consumer confidence will plummet, and consumption will decrease. It’s clear this will manage to fix itself on its own. But, to me, it’s also clear that since we know what is going to happen, we can just go ahead and institute a policy now: “Made in X” must be clearly marked on the label.
Thankfully, products don’t exist with parts from fifteen different countries based on 20 different patents and copyrights, so this regulation will be very simple to implement and enforce.
