Capture the essence (sum it up; leave nothing out) 2. Make it memorable (make sure people can repeat it from memory) 3. Keep it short (one verb, one direct object) 4. Pique their interest (cause the audience to want to know more) I think there was one more but I can’t remember it. Something like “make it unique,” but not quite that. I always thought #5 could have been included in one of the others, which is probably why I don’t remember it. This is just a thumbnail, mind you. Sloganeering was the topic of three lectures and an exercise in ADVERT 101. ---
