The “subjective” is part of the objective. Same reason why people have a right to their opinions but aren’t entitled to them. Some clarification. 😛 ---

When I was a (really terrible) Catholic, I thought the afterlife meant that it would all work out in the end and even if terrible things happened, well, that was just this life and victims would be rewarded and bad guys would get what they had coming to them. Now I think that life is utterly unfair and unkind and it’s up to each of us to improve the world for the people living in it, because it’s all we have. Instead of “let go and let God” it’s “let’s go and let’s try.” ---

I believe no religious system has produced evidence in support of it that is better than the evidence in support of other contradictory religious systems. I believe it’s possible to have a working moral system that doesn’t require supernatural elements to support it. ---

I believe that if everybody was nice and considerate towards each other the world would be a better, but possibly boring, place. But I also believe that humans are inherently fuck-ups, so that will never happen. In fact I believe we will be the authors of our own destruction. I believe that there isn’t one redeeming factor in Religion to make it worth existing. Any potential positive aspect of it can easily be trumped by a non-religious equivalent that is morally, logically, and practically superior. I believe that Climate Change is happening, but an awful lot of it (some from Climate Scientists themselves) is unsubstantiated doomsaying that is hindering rather than helping. I believe Honesty is the Best Policy in all situations, even though I do not practice that in all situations. ---
