I don’t have a problem with it, as long as there’s PPV porn. _Teach the controversy!_ An interviewer once asked Marilyn Manson whether his practice of tearing up bibles onstage was expensive. “No”, he answered, “I steal them from hotel rooms”. ---

That seems like an odd enough question that I’d be will to bet it was fed to the interviewer specifically so MM could answer it. When you’re putting on a show that probably costs thousands of dollar, what’s an extra $5 a night? Would you ask him if he thinks thinks the drummer is wasting too much money handing out drum sticks at the end of the night or if it gets expensive having one or two drinks throughout the night? All that costs about the same as a bible and no one bats an eye (and MM or any other band). ---

I volunteer at my local library, sorting donated items for their bookstore. A lady at my church was horrified when I told her that we sometimes had to put Bibles in the recycle bin, if they are too damaged to sell. Sorry, but I don’t think God wants us reading books with black mold on them, even if He did create black mold in the first place. :dubious: We handle the recycling respectfully, whether it’s a moldy Bible or a water-stained Danielle Steel novel. ---

I can think of a number of things that would disappoint me in a hotel room - A/C can’t get the room cool enough for my liking, too much noise in the hallway, low water pressure in the shower, uncomfy pillows, slow Wi-Fi, the TV doesn’t get HLN and I can’t get my _Forensic Files_ fix - but the presence of a Bible isn’t among them. Nobody’s forcing me to read it. Nobody’s forcing me to even look at it. It’s not going to burn my flesh if I accidentally touch it while reaching for a glass of water in the middle of the night. The only time I’m ever apt to interact with it is just before I check in, when I search all the drawers and cabinets for hidden treasure. ---

I guess if a person had been Bible-bashed enough, they might have an aversion to having one in the same room with them. Kind of like if they had been abused as a child by being beaten with wire coat hangers or burned with a steam iron, they might be bothered by finding those things in their hotel room.
