I always thought Jason Dufner was a pretty good name for a golfer, since old golfers are called duffers. ---

The OP mentions Jonathan Quick, goaltender of the LA Kings. In a couple games against the Anaheim Ducks this season, Quick faced another goalie named Viktor Fasth. Also, there was an Austrian defenceman who played with the Rangers and Islanders named Thomas Pöck. ---

I met a guy once who was either trying out for or in (memory is a bit fuzzy on that) the Australian Paralympic Team in the air rifle event. His name: John Rambo. ---

There was a football player named Webster Slaughter, but unfortunately he was a wide receiver and not a linebacker or defensive lineman. ---
