P.S. Good luck with your move. The rule I followed at my last move: if I haven’t opened this box for the past 7 years I 've lived here, I obviously don’t need to move it to the new place. (Of course, it’s hard to resist the urge to take a peek and then move it anyway.) ---

I absolutely can’t follow that rule, Arnold. A lot of the boxes I have I haven’t opened in a long time, but that’s because I haven’t had a place big enough to put the stuff, so I’m keeping it until I do. Things like keepsakes from my grandparents, for example. Also I don’t know where things such as the VHS tape of my son’s birth and a ton of photos are, so I can’t just indiscriminately throw away boxes. ---

I’ve found it useful to get a bunch of different-colored stickers to mark the boxes. Even if you just slap them on randomly, it brightens things up. ---

[/QUOTE] You know, a lot of people say this (I’ve heard this several times from different people) but I can pretty much guaran-damn-tee that no-one has ever thrown out a box without checking the contents first. **Opal** , too bad you live in Hotlanta. I’d offer to help if only you lived closer. FTR, I don’t think asking should be the least bit awkward. Some people love to help others and you’d never know unless you ask. ---

I’ve found some lost treasures for sure going through old boxes. I found my prom dress, for one thing! It still fits except the boobs (didn’t have those in high school) ---

It works. I used it once, then moved down here, and there isn’t room in my kitchen for it, so it has been sitting for 2 years on a shelf in the basement gathering dust. I figure if I need a wok in the future, I will get a new one. But probably not until I get a much larger kitchen! ---
