Sounds good to me. We’ll probably do a side dish or two, since the Oven of Doom isn’t really suitable for large scale food preperation. I should warn you, it’ll probably be 3 or 4 decent-sized boxes of books (unless I get a swarm of buyers on Amazon!), so ya’ll will have plenty to dig through. ---

Sound great, **Archergal**! So far we have Saturday, May 15th, 5pm until… **GeoBills** - Lasagna, plates, cups, cooler, ice, utensils, napkins, etc… **Archergal** - Fruit Salad kinda thing **GMRyujin** - Side dish, plus rummage sale goods **JackaRoe** - Red Beans and Rice/Creole dish and/or beer **Mausmagill** - CHOCOLATE DESSERT!!! We may hit that Greek Festival either Saturday afternoon or Sunday, sound good! As the date approaches we’ll send out addresses, directions, phone numbers, and all of those goodies. We do have a cat, if anyone has allegies. ---

I’m afraid I will have to redact my acceptance of the invitation to the Atlanta Dope-fest. That little nagging doubt that we were free the weekend of the fifteenth turned into a big nagging doubt when I remembered that my Brother-in-Law is graduating that day. I’ll make something chocolate for the next one. ---

**Sauron** and I are possibles. I do have a question though, is this a kid-friendly event? If not, I totally understand and it won’t hurt my feelings at all. The reason I ask is…we can get a babysitter for the tiniest minion. However, we will have the 7 year old with us unless one of the grandparents want him. Will there be any other kids present? If not, then I will certainly ask the grands if they can take him for the afternoon/night. I’ll check with the Dark Lord today and see what he thinks. 🙂 ---

Hrm. I don’t think we have any other kids coming, or at least nobody else has asked about it. The apartment isn’t kid-proofed, though I’m not too concerned about that, I just worry that he’d be bored if he’s the only short person there. ---

Ugh. My father has decided that I cannot go, due to the fact that you all might secretly be child molesters. I mean, never mind the fact that you’d all have to be posing as upstanding members of the SDMB for 4 years, and they’d know exactly where I would be, it’s still out. My dad is a little irrational. We’re going to be lame and bring a big salad or something, because most of our cookware will be packed up and I don’t want to subject strangers to the whims of the Oven of Doom. If anyone that’s not coming wants to come by our place and root through all the books, CDs, and DVDs I’m getting rid of, drop me an email. They’re mostly SFF, but there’s some Classics and some random stuff in there. Actually, if you can’t come by but want me to ship something to you, email me, too, and we’ll figure something out for shipping. ---

Seriously, though, I suppose I can understand a parent having reservations about their kid going to meet a bunch of people from the internet. Especially if he’s not familiar with the online world, all it seems you hear about are people being lured away to some nefarious end. Is there anything we can do to help allay his fears? Would he want to come with you? (This providing, of course, that having your dad around won’t completely cramp your style.) Drop you off, so he can see we don’t have a torture chamber set up in the back room? Talk to one of us on the phone? We’re fine upstanding citizens–well, my husband and I anyway, I can’t vouch for any of these other miscreants. We even met at one of these gatherings, ChiDope, almost three years ago. If not, well maybe you can come to a later event in a public place.
