I totally LOVE this one. Its been edited since I last read it, the front story has gotten better. When last I read it, the rider didn’t have a helmet, or freeway concerns. Being a biker myself, I have been assualted by wildlife as well. Give me some time and a few beers and I’ll tell you about the kamakizi quail in my neck of the woods. ---

I have battled squirrels before. I can attest that a squirrel will hang upside down on the edge of a roof and fight a man over attic rights. I had a 2 x 4 with a plank on the end and the squirrel went at it for all it was worth until I could screw the plank to the soffit board. ---

You know, I was going to post a thread tonight about driving home. About how, less than 2 blocks from my house, and after 16 inches of snow dropped earlier in the day, a grey bunny ran across the street in front of my car. I guess I’ll never know how close to death I came…😉 ---

I got a neighborhood squirrel to be my friend, and it would amaze my neighbors and friends when it came running up to me on the street, climbed my pants leg and dug into my shirt pocket for treats. Or it would come into my apartment and hang out. I had two cats that it totally intimidated during an early visit with some hissing and swipes of its claws. They never came near it again. ---

A couple of years ago, a [squirrel did some serious damage](http://www.khq.com/Global/story.asp?S=9145485&nav=menu438_2) in Spokane, WA: _The animal was killed by the contact which also burned through the power line, causing it to fall down. The line fell on a metal fence and a car. The fence became energized and conducted electricity down beneath the ground to a natural gas pipeline. The underground pipeline burned through and the gas inside ignited. The fire spread to the meters at two nearby houses._ ---

I tell you what, the squirrels that live around the Capitol Complex here in Charleston will beat you up for your lunch money and send you home crying for mommy! They do NOT mess around! ---

My mom used to put out peanuts for the squirrels every day at about the same time. If she was a little late one squirrel would perch on the air conditioner and look in the window to see what was causing the peanut delay. One day he decided that wasn’t good enough and we heard a tiny knock on the door. She opened the door and the squirrel was on the porch looking hopeful. He actually came to the door and knocked! She tried not to be late with the peanuts after that because who knows what his next step would be? ---
