What a tragic ending. I just heard this morning and I can hardly concentrate on anything. These crimes seem to affect me more each time I hear of them. ---

This one seems a bit harder to take; I think because the videotape is so affecting, and also because I really felt there was some hope of finding her. ---

I also thought there was hope; this is the first tiem I’ve heard of surveillance video of a kidnapping, and I thought that would lead them to her in time. I’m so sorry that it didn’t happen that way. I just found a [BBQ Pit thread](http://boards.straightdope.com/sdmb/showthread.php?t=238380) about this. ---

Since that lowlife had been caught on videotape, I thought he would have known about it and quickly released the girl (Carlie Brucia). Then again that’s the way I think but that is no predictor of what another person might do. Yes, very sad. ---

She was probably dead before the Amber Alert was called, so the video tape would have made no difference to the scum that took her life. RIP Carlie.
