# Attention GOP State Senators from Eastern Washington: Be careful what you wish for.

[Similar sentiments exist in northern Maine](http://www.boston.com/news/local/articles/2005/02/27/maines_split_personality/), from those wishing to preserve its independence (i.e. closed paper mills, stoop-labor potato farms, and numbing poverty) from the suburban-Boston immigrants “from away” in _southern_ Maine. What the hell, I only work there, and anything that will cut my ME state taxes is fine with me.

Damn, there’s a thought. Let’s toss out all parts of the union that consistently RECEIVE federal funds. Force them to be like the Reservations or independent countries or something.

We’ll all be rich!

Sometimes politicians in Northeastern Ohio want to secede from the rest of the state, purely because of politics. I think that both this section and the rest of the state could survive just fine on their own, but the name options for the new state are dumb, so I don’t support this.
