Attention Scion xB Owners/Drivers!!!

But the green paint make it fastest! ~Me

I absolutely LOVE my bright yellow Release 2. Don’t have pics, but let me tell you - I can ALWAYS find it in a parking lot! And no one is ever going to hit me and say “good heavens, I didn’t see you coming!” I personally think it’s delightfully funny-looking, and still get a chuckle at seeing mine, which I got in May 2005.

Good mileage, adequate pickup in manual transmission, excellent reliability, outstanding interior space, and reasonable price. I think this is as close to the ideal car as you can get for someone whose primary goal is not high performance.

Personally, I think that Serenity is a lot cuter and more acceptable that Johnny5. Sorry. I hate the boxy look, but Serenity has a curved backside that isn’t as hideous as I once thought.

No worries, that’s why it’s me driving it and not you. For the record, I also think the xA’s are very cute, but the thing that initially drew me to the xB was the wacky way it looks. The guy at the dealership told us one of his buyers bought the silver (sorry, “thundercloud”, same colour I have) and attached two large, foam cut-outs of toast onto the top of it. Hee!

Congratulations TygerDralion!!! You must post pictures when you get it!

So will the xB tool along at 75 mph on the interstate OK? Got enough pep to pass a semi on a hill?

I do it everyday in mine. But it is standard, which certainly makes a difference in your lower speed acceleration. Of course, I wouldn’t have automatic on a bet anyway, so that part doesn’t bother me, but some folks prefer it. For them, the xB might be a bit underpowered.

Yep (barring strong winds). Averaged around 95 the whole way back from Vegas.

I have an automatic, and it will if I really floor it. I haven’t tried taking it over the mountains yet, so I’m not sure about that. On the way back from Vegas, I was passing folks left and right, and there was some good hills along the way.

I don’t generally think much of Japanese vehicles, but Toyota was rather ingenious at finding an adaptive re-use for all those empty body cladding boxes they found behind the Pontiac plants and all those excess small wheels they got from Honda Lawn Care Division.

Well, while test driving, we got pretty good acceleration up a steep country road hill in third, and also accelerated to 70 in a reasonable amount of time to merge into 4:30 PM interstate traffic when my mom got the bright idea to change drivers on the side of the interstate.

Another question - considering that the DVD player is incorporated into the stereo/CD/MP3 player, could I burn a DVD of MP3s and have one disc with an obscene number of songs playing in my car?

Thanks!

Can’t help ya there, I’m afraid. It’s plain ol’ CD’s for this girl.

Or, as my supervisor put it, “it’s so ugly it’s cute!”

Sorry, can’t help you there. Like NailBunny, I have the standard CD player.

Yeah, I realized that my home DVD player plays MP3s, so I’m going to pick up some DVDs to burn and see if a DVD of MP3s will play in it.

I’m getting excited! I wish it wasn’t 6-8 weeks (minus three days)!!!

I’ve started a new thread over in MPSIMS requesting thoughts about a custom license plate, so if you have any idea, cruise on over there .

Thanks!
