I love the Berra one. Yogi’s such a funny guy. “If you get hurt and miss work, it won’t hurt to miss work. Plus they give you cash, which is just as good as money.” (cut to duck with suprised/shock look on his face) ---

Ah, my 8 year old loves the Berra one. Mostly for the shot where the duckis sitting in front of the hairstyle poster and looks like he has a full head of hair. Cracks him up everytime ---

But the Aflac duck _cannot_ match the winsom charm of the Taco Bell dog, or the GEICO gecko. For the humor impaired, the above is sarcasm. ---

Now, I could have sworn that the latest AFLAC commercial has a different voice for the duck. It just doesn’t sound like Gilbert to me. I think my favorite is the one with the husband and wife talking about starting a family before going to bed. The final shot of the duck’s feet sticking out from under the covers while you hear snoring is just too damn funny. [continuing hijack] And as for pirated uses of the Taco Bell Dog, who here has a Jack in the Box in their area? There was a great commercial where a chihuahua (or however it’s spelled) walking down the street, stopping and saying “Yo quiero Taco Bell.” to which one of the Jack antena balls responds “Yeah, so? You’re a dog, you’ll eat anything.” The final shot has the Jack Ball sniffing and saying “Has someone been eating beans?” then there’s a shot of this dog looking more pathetic and embarrassed than any person on earth could possibly look. It was hilarious. ---

I’m going with the Yogi one. It’s just so cool to see the duck come strutting in with his usual routine and see him completely knocked off his groove by Yogi being Yogi. When you can turn it on its head like that you know you captured something worthwhile. ---

Although AFLAC has succeeded in gaining brand recognition through these commercials, I now associate the brand with a commercial that annoys the piss out of me. ---

I’m just glad they have started to bring back the black guy that is the only one who sees the duck. In the earlier commercials the looks on his face are what made the commercials actually acceptable to me.
