> Bossman Traylor passes away
>
> by Dave Meltzer
> Ray “Big Bossman” Traylor passed away suddenly at his home tonight. Traylor, who was 42, got his start as Jim Cornette’s bodyguard Big Bubba Rogers in 1986 after he left his job as a prison guard in Marietta, GA.
>
> After leaving Crockett promotions over pay, his real life job became is gimmick as the Big Bossman, the evil prison guard, who had a big run with Hulk Hogan.
>
> He was also a major star with All Japan Pro Wrestling as Big Bubba in the 90s, before returning to the WWF in recent years.
>
> At this point his death is a mystery. He had not been complaining of feeling bad, other than a bad knee. His wife found him in a room tonight and he wasn’t breathing. Paramedica were unable to revive him.

Just thought y’all would like to know. Carry on.

I always liked the BBM, especially when he got into the SWAT officer gimmick. That is, until they forced that godawful feud with Al Snow. I wonder why they got rid of a guy who was a solid bad guy and had the hell of a long history behind him for the older fans to know that he was still serious.

That sucks that he died.

☹

I liked him, was the first heel I remember actively disliking when I was a kid.
Which meant he done his job well.

As a JCP fan growing up, I was never a fan of the Big Bossman but I always thought the Bossman Slam was a cool move, finishing or otherwise, and I do have fond memories of the so-horrible-it-was-good storyline between he and The Big Show where he took him coffin surfing at his dad’s funeral.
