Nose piercing that got pulled out/infected scar?

She should get a tattoo on the wart - maybe get a little face inked onto it.

I’ve spoken to a couple of doctors (a dermatologist and a plastic surgeon) who told me that due to its placement on the edge of a nostril, removing it will likely be painful and leave scarring. If it goes wrong, I will have a chunk missing from the end of my nose, instead of a lump. So: If it goes well, I’ll have a scar on my nose. If it goes badly, I’ll have a missing bit of nose. Seems to me that whatever I do will still leave me with something on my nose that will be noticeable and draw people’s attention as much as the mole already does. So, for now I’m happy to keep the mole, given the possible alternatives.

Yeah, I’ve got similar but right around my mouth. Two relatively small, roundish, and raised points - a mole (not dark, thank goodness), and a smooth scar from teenage acne. I’d love to get rid of them but they’d almost certainly leave a scar, plus I can’t imagine the healing process for something like that right around my mouth, what with frequent movement, trying to eat/brush teeth, etc. I know they’re there. I know I’d look better without them, but there isn’t really a way to simply whisk them away and not risk much worse aftereffects.

In case you are serious (and I realize you are not) it is difficult/impossible to tattoo successfully over tissue other than normal skin. Even calloused skin is a challenge.

Don’t you think it’s kind of selfish to detract from your hotness just because of what _could_ go wrong? I expect to be surrounded by attractive people (note: there is only one definition, and it’s mine), if only so, while having sex, I don’t trip and ruin everything by recalling an ugly person I’ve seen during the day. So could you at least make an effort?

She may be pregnant. I had several gawd-awful skin tags which looked a lot like warts during my pregnancy. The docs won’t do anything about it while you’re preggers, no matter how much you beg. I finally took a razor blade to mine, then used one of those wart remover freezy kits from the drug store to cauterize the area. It sucked.

Seriously though, if it is a wart, then it’s contagious, and she’s in a food service/money handling job. That’s just nasty.

We had a rash of warts in an old office of I worked in, and it turned out there was a lady in the mail room whose hands were just covered with them. HR got the health plan to cover removing them, since it was affecting her job.

maybe it wasnt a wart but a light colored mole? And warts are stubborn, removal doesn’t remove the virus from the area. The PA who “froze” off my kid’s wart caused it to multiply and spread!

How contagious warts are, I don’t really know?!

I never got the big deal about skin tags - when I notice the start of one (and I’m preggo so a few have been trying to make an apparance) I just cut them off with nail clippers.

Mind you, I’m a big fan of home-do-it-yourself-surgery, so I suppose that approach may not be for everyone. 😃

Unless she’s stirring Frappucino with her nose and serving up lemon pound cake on her face, you don’t have anything to worry about.

Seriously, it’s conceivable - barely - that the mailroom lady at work spread a wart-causing virus by using her bare hands to sort the mail, which your co-workers then handled with their own bare hands. But a barista? Unless she’s got no concept of food-service hygiene, she’s using utensils, not her hands (or nose) to serve food.

Also, add me the list of people who would find a curvy girl with a nice face and a full-sleeve tattoo absolutely freakin’ hot, with or without a wart.

My husband does this, he’s prone to them (no, he’s not pregnant!).

It horrifies me, even though logically I know it doesn’t really hurt and he doesn’t even bleed but…eeeee!

On the topic of moles, my mom had a couple on her face that sound similar to what the OP describes. Same color as her skin (maybe slightly darker) and raised, they could be mistaken for a wart. She eventually had them removed, but probably not until she was about in her late 30’s or early 40’s.

Mole removal isn’t necessarily cheap, and it’s not without risk - I have one I’d like removed and have looked into it, and it can be anywhere from $150-$400, depending on where you live and where the mole is (in my case, under my hair but I’m sick to death of hairstylists combing it, and scraping it myself when I do my hair). Plus, there IS a risk of scarring, and the nose can scar pretty easily, and are more prone to keloids than other parts of your face.

It simply may not bother her enough to remove it, considering the cost & risk.

Speaking of skin tags – forget telling a hot barista you are having trouble masturbating to her, could she save up for (maybe it’s a) wart surgery, if my daughter [pulled this shit](http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ydwbumpiRrk&feature=related) I would slap her face and tell her they’re hereditary. What a shallow child.

Yes, that’s exactly the way we should all respond to a child’s harmless curiosity and brash naivete. With a brutal slapdown!

Maybe it’s just a nose piercing that catches the light wrong. A lot of them look like warts/moles to me at first glance.

22 Minutes did a good parody of the Dr. Scholl’s skin tag remover commercial, but I can’t find it.

I hadn’t thought of this, but if it’s a piercing she needs to cover for work, it could be just a little piece of a band-aid covering it up, which could look like a wart/mole.

Even if tattoos, etc. are allowed, facial piercings often need to be covered if you’re in food service.

Yeah, I still don’t get why a wart made of flesh is bad, but a “wart” that’s shiny and metallic is something that people wear voluntarily.
