Well, this is the severalth thread you’ve started where you pointed out some controversial thing or change in your life (“I just smoked my first cigarette”, “I need to stop being a slut”), and some people thought you were totally serious, some thought you were totally joking, some thought you were partially serious and most people thought you were a complete loon. Which is fine, if that’s what you’re shooting for. If you have another goal, you might want to consider a change to your posting style. ---

You know, no matter what you perceive look like, somewhere in this big world of ours, someone has life worse than you or thinks they are ugly. I’m quite sure that someone with an incurable deformity would think you, Quazz, are beautiful. I guess that means you are doomed to get hit by a car, too. ---

Sheesh, I really don’t understand all the anger toward the OP. I thought it was pretty obviously tongue-in-cheek. In any case, I would say I do have some degree of resentment for those I perceive to be more attractive than I am, not that I would actually wish them to all be hit by cars. Using hyperbole to let off steam isn’t that big a deal, though. I can relate to how the OP feels. Honestly, is it such a problem? Attractive people already have an advantage, so what harm is a little ribbing from those _below_ you? 🙂 ---

There’s a certain crew that sits around waiting to take offense so that they can have an excuse to vent their hatred. The fact is that all of us occasionally have unworthy thoughts. Having them or talking about them doesn’t reflect on your quality as a person, and beautiful people like me and you can handle the heat. ---

I just want to say how much I liked the OP. I found it had a nice sense of balance and restraint. Note, the OP did not say, “beautiful people should be hit by cars and die in screaming death agonies, their previously flawless bodies now crushed and mangled and smeared with blood” as many on this board would when engaging in a rant. No, the OP says they should be hit by cars and LIVE. He holds out for the SURVIVAL of beautiful people after being hit by cars. Perhaps they will forever lurch about in crutches, but they will LIVE! This is what I mean by balance and restraint, people. ---

Hey, don’t get me wrong, I’m not angry or offended by the OP. I think it’s funny, and probably just an example of one of those less-than-nice thoughts that occur to us all once and a while: “Yeah, you think you’re so pretty _now_, ya bastards, how pretty will you be when you get _hit by a car_ like Deborah Kerr in ‘An Affair to Remember’, eh? I hope Cary Grant gets hit by a car too! I hope Kirk Douglas gets two more dimples knocked in his chin!” But still, when you say publicly you hope Group X all gets hit by cars, you’ve gotta expect a little ribbing, good natured and not so.
