I asked this question some time back and didn’t have any luck, but I think I have enough information to make it a bit less obscure.

Back in the glory days of Napster and other file-sharing apps, I (ahem) \*acquired \*a track which has become, bar none, my favorite recording of _Au fond du temple saint_. Unfortunately, other than the title, I have no information about the recording, and have been unable to track down who the performers are and where I can get an authorized copy. To my ears, and to those of a friend far better qualified than I, it sounds like the baritone part is being sung by Placido Domingo. Now finding a recording of Domingo singing the _tenor_ part is simplicity itself. But singing baritone is a different matter. My Google-fu is failing me in this matter. Can any of our resident opera mavens point me in the right direction?

I’ve found several references to [this](http://www.cbsnews.com/stories/2006/07/08/ap/entertainment/mainD8IO1O000.shtml) concert in 2006 with Domingo singing Zurga, but that’s probably later than your recording (there is a live recording of the concert on Deutsche Grammophone).
