However, if a high end company had to go under, why couldn’t it have been Wilson Audio. Their stuff is pretty overrated. And definitely not competetive dollar for dollar.

Genesis seemed to make the best stuff that most people had never heard. I would say they were the victims of poor marketing.

Tube amps from the golden age of Hi-Fi are still around at relatively decent prices - Scott, Marantz, Ampex, Dynaco, etc… far cheaper than the arc welder type solid state stuff at ridiculous prices and the sound is usually better. This is the dirty little secret none of the ‘high end’ people want you to know about.
They will require a bit of maintenance to bring them back up to speed – electrolytic capacitors in particular degrade with time and and so any vintage gear must be checked out prior to use. Do not plug in vintage electronics ‘just to see if it works’; parts for them are readily available and cheap.
