We dvr just about everything now. Watch something else on dvr until a show with commercials has gone through enough broadcast time, and then watch it late while ff-ing through the ads. ---

Truth? I also found a work-around. I now bring my phone into the kitchen, plug in a charger, and watch Netflix or Xfinity through their apps. The sound quality is stable… problem solved? ---

Marketing speak I heard the name of a local company come up a few times, so I went to their webpage to find out what it is they do. Apparently they “deliver a fully integrated, future ready workforce transformation experience”. That’s the clearest sentence I could find on the whole site. It’s just cliche stock images and vague language like this. ---

_snarl_ I start my mornings with a giant cup of tea and a cruise through the internet: a few comics, weather, FB, email, this board, etc … I aim for a good 1/2 hr of non-stress cruising before I dive in to the real world. In my email this morning was this lovely subject line: > Insurance Policy Cancelled for HSC-1291573-01 That’s our home insurance 😐 The reason stated, once I got to actual cancellation letter, was: > Non-Renewal Reason: Risk is Unacceptable > Non-Renewal Detail: Stairs, porches, or decks over 3 feet in height without a properly > installed railing Okay, that’s probably a valid reason. Except that my front stairs off the driveway are 1ft 4in, and the back stairs off the laundry are 2ft 7in. We don’t have a deck or a porch that isn’t enclosed. 🤬 😤 I have NO idea where this all came from, we bought the house almost 2 years ago and this is the 1st I’m hearing of it. And no, it’s not a clever scam from an outside source, I found the notice on the real insurance site as well as in my email. I just love writing politely worded nastygrams before I’ve even had a swallow of my tea /sarcasm ---

I think it takes a long time for candy to go stale, you’ll in theory in never know because you are giving it away, and besides I’d end up eating most of it and would have to replace it (the real problem from my perspective, but it wouldn’t be stale!) ---

I know you said the shows broadcast at lower volume than daytime tv however it is against the law to have the commercials louder than the show you are watching. Google the calm act. Streaming channels are exempt. In all the time the law has been in effect only 2 cases have been enforced according to an article I read. Nobody reported. https://consumercomplaints.fcc.gov/hc/en-us You’ll need dates, time etc. ---

I love my husband. He is not usually an idiot. But it is terribly frustrating to have to do all the chores related to baby because he can’t be bothered to do them correctly. And I am not talking about just folding the clothes the wrong way. I’m talking about the stupid bottles for daycare. I asked him nicely yesterday after an extremely infuriating day with an extremely clingy baby to please prepare the bottles for daycare. I told him 2 ozs go in each bottle, I got the breastmilk out of the freezer for him and even got the labels out that daycare requires. All he had to do was thaw the milk, pour it into the bottle, write the date on the label, slap it on the bottle and stick it all in the fridge. He did all those steps, except the most important one. Daycare requires that we put dates on the bottles. This is to cover their ass as the state would get mad if they were feeding babies out of date milk. So, this morning, after more bullshit with the children who were clingy, mad, and generally unruly, I had to write dates on the stupid labels so that daycare would take the baby so I could go to work. I’m tired. It really is a small thing. I just don’t want to have to constantly check things that have already been completed. I’m going crazy here.
