I enjoy coffee, always with a half-teaspoon of sugar and lots of cream. But FWIW I’ve found cold brew coffee to be a thing unto itself. I prefer it straight black, with no sugar and no cream, definitely not the way I’d drink any normal coffee. And then I sit back and await the buzz! 😃 ---

In the mid-2000s there used to be a flavor called Coca-Cola Blak. It was a mix of Coke and coffee and I loved it. It vanished. For a while it was available in Europe but I’m not in Europe and I’m not paying outrageous shipping fees for a case of Coke. Recently, Coke brought it back…sort of. The new flavors were mocha, caramel, and vanilla and were only offered in tall, skinny cans which were sold individually. I bought the heck out of them because I knew what was coming. Sure enough, it’s gone again. ---

A gentle fuck you to my Coke Zero-loving friends. Diet Coke is getting harder and harder to find as (I suspect) Coke is phasing it out in favour of Zero. Diet Dr Pepper is already gone in Canada. As it gets less available, less will be sold, and then they’ll have all the evidence they need to stop making it. So many restaurants now offer regular or Zero—no more diet. And I am sad. ---

I’ll go into the supermarket next door to Subway, and get the ingredients for a ham and cheese and tomato sandwich that I can make at home. For less money, really. Outside of the ingredients, my only cost is the time it takes me to make a sandwich. Subway, you’re killing yourself with the “you can’t see an online menu without giving up a lot of personal information.” Bet you’d get a lot more business if you just posted your menu online, and gave up on the data collection crap. ---

But I found that by Googling “Subway menu” and then giving it a fake location, you can pick a specific store at random and by clicking “pick up now” it will finally allow you to browse the menu, but only if the store is currently open. Still a nuisance but at least you don’t have to enter name and address and stuff like that. **[Here’s a menu you can browse](https://www.subway.com/en-ca/restaurant/26457-0/menu/category/909)** with a random store already selected. It should work for you but I don’t know how much it depends on cookies. Also don’t know how much selections vary from store to store. Alternatively, both Uber Eats and Doordash have Subway menus, though again, you have to select a location. Uber Eats seems to have the better menu display… ---

Caffeine free coke Zero is where the rum goes! I’m a fan of Coke Zero, I prefer it to Diet, and prefer either over regular Coke. ---

Subway’s website doesn’t misbehave in the UK. I can view the menu without any problems. No doubt this will be rectified soon, “for my convenience”. ---

I’ve bought three pontoon boats over the years, considering ten times that many and getting good deals, then eventually reselling a few years later for the price I paid. The past two summers we’ve been without a pontoon boat. I looked at a few, but no joy. So….my gf decided she wanted to look. She took me to see a boat with an asking price 2X the most expensive boat I ever bought. I told her that this is a tough time of year to sell, so if she likes the boat and wants to buy it, she should let me negotiate and I could knock 4K off the price. We look at the boat, chat with the sellers, and then the next thing I know my gf is setting up a meet at a notary so she can pay their asking price. ---

My wife bought a new car last month, and despite my helping her work a great deal, at the end of the purchase she bought the windshield warranty from the finance guy just to get her payment close to an even dollar amount (think $580 vs $600, she wanted it at an even $600). So, the plan was to take possession of the boat next weekend. It’s kinda cute though, my gf is really excited about it. I just got a text from her informing me that she’s meeting the seller and transferring the title in two hours. He’s then bringing the boat to the marina, where I need to be prepared to captain and get the boat into its slip. The slip that our friends at the marina arranged for us. ETA: have to get Dock lines. ---
