Arggh! I followed your book on-line link, yesterday **Tansu** , but the blinkin’ Eye is shut because of the hot weather!! Still, I suppose it would be a bit uncomfortable to be in a glass box high in the sky in the weather in London at the moment. Maybe it will be cooler next weekend. That thing in the British Museum could be worth a peep, **garius** & **jr8**. I have been to the Imperial War Museum before, although the Holocaust exhibition is obviously a new part. I might chance the V&A or the National History Museum. I mean, I can’t really spend three whole days in the pub, can I? ---

It appears to me that as of right now it’s perfectly possible to book a ticket for any time between 9.30am and 10.00pm Friday 22 August. Shut for hot weather would indicate that it’s shut rightnowthisminute. Was it impossible to make bookings for future dates while the Eye was not running? ---

The Eye’s a bit of a let-down. I went a couple of weeks ago with my sister. It’s only 20 minutes in the air - of which 10 minutes you’re not high enough to see anything. There’s only a few buildings which are recognizable from the Eye and a bus tour would be a much better option for seeing them. I’d recommend one of those amphibious bus tours. Much more bang for your buck 🙂 ---

So I now have booked myself on. Excellent. Thanks for pointing that out, even though I feel like a bit of a nit now. No change there, then. And **brainfizz** , the amphibian bus tour thingymajig is another excellent idea, I shall look into that forthwith. I did one here with friends of mine from England and it was good fun, even in May when it was freezing! ---

In as much as I was all well and good with the idea when it was a few months away as the weeks have slowy ticked by my fear has been steadily mounting. It looks like I will be succumbing to the dreaded “Social Interaction”. I dread how I am gong to explain to my sister that I’ll be going to spend time with people I’ve never met from a messageboard by the name of “Straight Dope” On reflection there is entirely _too_ much fear in this post,Grow a spine man. ---

Well, as sad as it is I (as of today) can no longer make Saturday afternoon. Why? Because, sad pathetic individual that I am, I have paid £110 to Regent’s Park Zoo to take part in their twice-yearly hypnotherapy “Friendly Spider Program (FSP)”, which has an 80% success rate in curing arachnaphobia. As a diehard arachnophobe, I couldn’t miss this opportunity to prevent myself from running screaming in future from mere drawings of spiders. Sorry. Pathetic I know, but it was this date or one in October that is guaranteed to sell out (they’re doing a national ad campaign in women’s magazines).
